Flux Afterburn: 3D Animation Sequence
On Flux Afterburn, I shaped a concise narrative through concept sketches and storyboards, grounding tone and pacing with targeted visual references. I then built the starship asset from top- and side-view drawings to ensure scene-to-scene continuity. Animation and effects were executed, followed by rendering, compositing, and audio mixing to deliver the finished film.
Pipeline at a Glance
The project followed a lean feature pipeline: storyboards → ship modeling → lookdev/lighting → animation passes → render layers → compositing and sound. The final short hit each milestone, demonstrating cinematic intent and end-to-end craft in a compact runtime.
Ship Modeling & Continuity
Using orthographic sketches, I modeled the hull, thrusters, and control surfaces to hold up in close-ups and wide shots. Clean topology and consistent detail density preserved silhouette readability across angles and focal lengths.
Final Cut
The cut combines HDRI-based lighting, atmospheric FX, and a restrained color grade. Compositing balanced glows, lens effects, and motion blur; a lightweight soundscape tied propulsion beats to camera motion.
